EDITOR'S NOTE: I now see that the best way to truly understand aperture, ISO, and shutter speed is when you shoot in the dark! I didn't manage to get a perfect exposure, but this is not the end of night photography for DoublClik. This city has too much to offer!

Sheri for the Win

A couple weeks ago I hosted a DoublClik Makeover giveaway on the lovely Piril Maria's photo fashion goodness blog. I was pleasantly surprised when I received a very excited email from Sheri exclaiming she finally won a giveaway and that she'd be happy with whatever changes I make to her portrait. She picked the perfect shot to send!

EDITOR'S NOTE: Sheri just needed to be lit up a little. The glam, smile, and charm was there all along!

EDITOR'S NOTE: Saying that Vegas in overwhelming is an understatement. I'm still recovering.

EDITOR'S NOTE: True to Project Runway form, the models were sporting looks made by student fashion designers in Las Vegas. Their challenge was to create an outfit inspired by Photoshop. I'm not going to lie, I was just waiting for Heidi Klum to make a surprise appearance but then I remembered "I'm at a Photoshop Conference. Settle down Andi."

EDITOR'S NOTE: That Gondola ride was worth the $15 to get the shots that I could right on the water. Plus I don't feel AS jipped now that I haven't been to Italy!

Guru Awards | Vegas Blog Exhibit

EDITOR'S NOTE: I needed to properly exit off stage in order to receive $400 in gift cards to B&H Photo, the official sponsor of Photoshop World. I'm ordering an iPad 2 tomorrow! My Guru Award was safely tucked in my purse, wrapped in a t-shirt my whole travel home. Rodrigo greeted me with "Hey Champion!" and immediately it went onto our home office shelf. It's official! I'm a photoshoppin' guru...which means I shall never look bad in a picture again!

EDITOR'S NOTE: I had about an hour and a half of total shopping time in Vegas and hit up Express, Gap, and H&M in Caesar's Palace. H&M was a towering 3 stories with disco balls and chandeliers. It was an all out shopping spree, not necessarily for the amount of money I was carrying, but for the limited amount of time I had! I spent around $150 at H&M, (which means I left with 5 bags full), $35 at Express for a white top I've already spilled chocolate ice cream on, and scored 2/$20 fall printed tights at Gap. Cha-CHING!

EDITOR'S NOTE: After gathering images and video from others, and getting back on track with daily life in Mexico, I'm ready to show you the world's largest digital photography conference in Vegas, through the eyes of DoublClik. It all starts Sunday. Don't miss it!

15 Minutes of Fame

It's 1:15am in Vegas and I just got out of the shower. I still have to dry my hair to look tip-top shape for the big opening ceremony tomorrow (and Guru Award Show!!) Hopefully I'll still look my best after only 5 hours of sleep. I loved hearing your feedback for my portfolio, and I am going to start asking for it more. So claws out and bring it! I just wanted to put together a couple layout pieces to bring to my portfolio review session on an iPad tomorrow. (an iPad, no not my iPad.) Some of you have seen these, some of you haven't. I figure by this point in my meeting I'll only have a couple minutes left so I just grabbed a couple shots to show relationship between imagery and text.

EDITOR'S NOTE: It's a daunting task to fill you in on Vegas at this point but all I can say are the words that are flashing in my head: FLAMINGO, BELLAGIO, MIRAGE, LIMO, SEXY, STRIP, HEAT, CARPET, BLING, CHA-CHING, DRINK, COBBLESTONE, GLAM, INDULGE.

In the Portfolio

Before I skip off to Vegas in the morning for Photoshop World, I had to show you what photos made the cut in my portfolio. I could only choose 10. TEN! Surprisingly, I chose one that was taken with an older camera that wasn't even a DSLR (See "Joe") and another from the first shoot I ever did with my Canon T1i over a year ago (see "Lisette Oakey") Just goes to show even with all the new tricks and tips, I still prefer some from my earliest days. I got them all printed 8x12 and a black leather album with black pages is awaitin' for me in Vegas. I'll be mounting them in my hotel room in time for my portfolio review this Wednesday. (Same day I get a shot at The Guru Award) Can't wait to show you Vegas through my eyes!

Which shots would you rank at the top?

EDITOR'S NOTE: I'll be in Vegas through this Saturday with back to back workshops and training, and paparazzi madness all over the strip at night. I hope to pop in to share with you a glimpse of Sin City during the week!
