A First Cinemagraph

When I first discovered Jamie Beck's world of Cinemagraphs a few months ago, I called this love child of film and photography, a photographer's dream. And this past Saturday on location, I wrapped up the shoot saying "Don't move, I want to try something." 

This first cinemagraph was created using Photoshop CS6 Extended. The creation process was simpler than I expected, but there's a lot more things to keep in mind during filming. For starters--a tripod. Here's to the first of many!

This collection will always be special to me. It is the shoot that pulled me out of my creative slump, the one that brought me back to the sweet adrenaline rush of editing until 3am. I feel more visionary than ever, and I know my dear friend (turned model) will agree, this is a treasure.

EDITOR'S NOTE: Andria Phesia was born in London and moved to the Mediterranean island of Cyprus in later years. We have been dear friends for a little over a year now, and I must say my model radar has never been off. I knew she had the "it" photographers wait to come across. She is the epitome of what a lady should be. Refined, classy, confident. And if that weren't enough she has a British accent : )

I didn't have a soundtrack to this shoot until after it was made. I was doing cool down in my Pilates class and the MotoNovio pictures flashed through my head as new indie music played. And sometimes, finishing touches just come like that. Take us in Bedouin Soundclash.
